Chargers RB Ryan Mathews expected to play in regular-season finale
Despite leaving his home stadium Sunday with his left foot in a walking boot, Chargers running back Ryan Mathews is expected to play this weekend versus Kansas City. That's pretty much what his head coach, Mike McCoy, told the media Tuesday. Mathews suffered a left ankle injury during last week's win over the Raiders.
Mathews has been red hot over the past month, scoring in four of his last five games and reaching at least 99 rushing yards in each of the last three games. If he plays this weekend, he would be a strong RB2 at home versus a defense that has absolutely nothing to play for, win or lose.
