No more stalling: Cowboys QB Tony Romo undergoes back surgery

Reports surfaced on Monday that Cowboys QB Tony Romo would miss the remainder of the 2013 season, including the playoffs, due to a back injury. Since then the organization did their best to counter such gloomy talk, suggesting there was a still a chance Romo could play in Sunday's must win game versus the Eagles. Such hopes/stalling tactics officially ended on Friday as the veteran underwent back surgery, putting Romo on the IR and Kyle Orton in the driver's seat.

Fantasy Analysis:

Again, we've assumed all week that would take the helm in the finale and de facto NFC East championship game. The 31-year-old is a veteran of the NFL wars and has been a legitimate starter, though his last start came during the 2011 season. Potential rust and all, he's a QB2 this week against a Philadelphia defense which ranks 26th against fantasy QBs. DeMarco Murray, Jason Witten and Dez Bryant remain must starts in most formats for Week 17, but obviously expectations must be lowered at least a little.
