Panthers WR Steve Smith hints at not playing, then says he will play Sunday
Panthers fans who were following Twitter updates from the Charlotte Observer's Joseph Person during wide receiver Steve Smith's press conference Monday may have felt their heart skip a beat when Smith said he was only 60 percent sure that he would play in Sunday's playoff game versus the 49ers. But mere minutes later, Smith upped his chances to 100 percent.
"It's not about can I go?," Smith said. "It's about how confident do I feel when I am going? I will play Sunday. But it's how much of that I don't worry about the knee."
Smith sprained the PCL in his left knee in Week 16 and has been resting and rehabbing since. He said he expects to practice Wednesday.
Smith is tough as nails, and I have no doubt that he will play. However, against the Niners' secondary, he is not a recommended option for fantasy playoff leagues.
