Per usual, Chargers RB Ryan Mathews sits out Thursday's practice
Chargers running back Ryan Mathews hasn't practiced on Wednesday or Thursday in either of the past two weeks to rest a nagging sprained ankle. And nothing has changed this week as Mathews has once again missed all practice sessions up through Thursday. However, he is still expected to play Sunday in Denver.
Unless he has suffered a setback, Mathews will practice Friday and be ready to roll. He sat out a large chunk of game time last week against the Bengals because of his ankle, but Mathews said afterward that he is set on playing versus the Broncos. If is he surprisingly absent Friday, I'll reconsider his fantasy prospects. But bad ankle and all, I consider him a top-three RB for fantasy playoff leagues in Week 19.
Mathews ran for 127 yards and a touchdown in Denver on Dec. 12.
