UPDATE: Chargers RB Ryan Mathews doesn't practice Friday, listed as questionable

Update: Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com writes that Mathews was wearing a brace over his injured left ankle while watching Friday's practice and "gingerly made his way to the locker room" once it was over.

Hmmm, this is interesting.
Chargers running back Ryan Mathews @rmathews24 didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday after aggravating his sprained ankle in last weekend's playoff win over the Bengals. Yet, no alarms were sounded, because Mathews hadn't practice before Friday in each of the previous two weeks and still played. The assumption was the Chargers were just giving Mathews extra rest, he would return to practice Friday and suit up Sunday.
Well, this week, Mathews didn't practice on Friday either. He may still play, but he is listed as questionable on the official injury report.

Fantasy Analysis:

Mathews will be a game-time decision, but I have a hard time thinking that he will miss this showdown, especially because he has been playing through ankle pain for a few weeks now. The problem for fantasy owners is that Mathews might very well be limited in the game, and Danny Woodhead @danny__woodhead and Ronnie Brown could siphon away extra carries. That three-headed backfield worked out pretty well against the Bengals; the Chargers might stick with it, muddling the fantasy values of all involved.
