Vikings RB Adrian Peterson might undergo groin surgery

A sprained foot got more press when Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson missed two of the Vikings' final three games this season. But the 2012 MVP was also hampered by a groin injury, and that issue might land him on an operating table soon. An anonymous source with knowledge of the situation has told USA Today's Tom Pelissero that Peterson will meet with a doctor next week who will examine his groin injury and decide if he should have surgery.
According to Pelissero, a former Vikings beat reporter, one course of action could involve an adductor release, a minimally invasive procedure that entails cutting an irritated tendon and calls for about two months of rehab.

Fantasy Analysis:

The sooner Peterson makes his decision the better, so as to not have his recovery bleed into next season. If Peterson misses only a few months, he would be questionable for OTAs, but having him ready for training camp is more important. Expect this to be a heavily covered story throughout the spring and summer.
