Report: Broncos don't expect to have RB Knowshon Moreno back next season

Knowshon Moreno @knowshonmoreno is scheduled to become a free agent this spring, and it's great timing for him to cash in as the 26-year old is experiencing the best season of his career. And according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the Broncos "don't expect" to have Moreno back for the 2014 season. He set career-highs in rushing yards, receiving yards, catches, and touchdowns this season.

Fantasy Analysis:

Montee Ball admittedly had trouble grasping the Broncos' complicated playbook early in his rookie year. But his playing time increased and his stats improved during the second half. Including playoffs, he has averaged 5.8 yards per carry since Week 12. Ball has workhorse qualities, and he's signed for cheap through the 2016 season. For those reasons, the Broncos should be ready to move on if Moreno gets handed a huge contract. He suffered through a couple of injury-marred seasons directly before his big year, but as he enters his age-27 season, Moreno will have plenty of takers on the open market. However, if Moreno departs, he won't land in a better situation than having Peyton Manning as his quarterback and being surrounded by all of Denver's offensive weapons.
