Cowboys tab Scott Linehan to be play-caller, demote defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin

Last week, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked if he was going to replace any coaches, and he evaded that line of questioning by saying, "No movement there, everybody is under contract."
This week, there's a lot of movement to report. Scott Linehan has been hired as Dallas' passing-game coordinator. But more importantly, he replaces Bill Callahan as the offense's play-caller although Callahan will keep the title of offensive coordinator.
Also, defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin has been replaced by defensive line coach Rod Marinelli. Kiffin will work under the title of assistant head coach.
Linehan had been the Lions' offensive coordinator for the last five seasons. He was also an OC for the Vikings and Dolphins in previous years.

Fantasy Analysis:

I'm sure having three play-callers in Linehan, Callahan, and head coach Jason Garrett on the same staff won't create any friction or easy stories for a franchise that seems to wallow in controversy.
The Lions have set passing-attempt records over the past few seasons. But even in 2009 and 2010, when Matthew Stafford was sidelined for large portions of the season, the Lions still ranked in the top 10 in passing attempts. This hire should make Dez Bryant @DezBryant happy since he was underutilized in a number of games this season. But the same could be said of running back DeMarco Murray @DeMarcoMurray, and he may have to get used to more weeks with 15 or fewer carries.
Marinelli oversaw solid defenses in Chicago from 2010-12. Anything will be better than the unit Kiffin coordinated this season, one of the worst in NFL history.
