NFL Honors: Broncos QB Peyton Manning named MVP in near unanimous decision

Peyton Manning might win his second Super Bowl on Sunday. He won his fifth MVP Award on Saturday. Manning garnered 49 of 50 votes for MVP -- one vote went to Tom Brady. Manning was also named Offensive Player of the Year. Setting all-time league highs in passing yards and touchdowns will do that for you.
Other winners on the night include: Packers running back Eddie Lacy for Offensive Rookie of the Year; Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly for Defensive Player of the Year; Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers for Comeback Player of the Year; Panthers head coach Ron Rivera for Coach of the Year; and Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles for Fantasy Player of the Year.

Fantasy Analysis:

People are going to focus on who the heck voted for Brady as MVP, but it's small potatoes. Manning was the league's first four-time MVP. Now he's it's first five-timer.
Lacy defeated Chargers wideout Keenan Allen for the ROY Award by a 35-12 vote. I agree with Charles being the Fantasy Player of the Year. Yes, Manning was in a league of his own, but quarterback was a position flush with productive players this year. You couldn't say that about RB as a bunch of early picks in 2013 drafts -- Trent Richardson, C.J. Spiller, Doug Martin, Arian Foster, Ray Rice -- busted. Charles was one in a small handful of truly dependable backs. And his five-touchdown effort in Week 15 single-handedly lifted most of his owners into their league's championship.
