Saints' Jimmy Graham officially receives tight end franchise tag

As expected, Jimmy Graham @TheJimmyGraham was given the franchise tag of a tight end on Monday by the league's management council, just hours prior to the deadline to assign such tags. This means Graham will likely file a grievance against the league, stating he should be tagged as a wide receiver because he lined up off of the line 67 percent of the time this season.
That wide receiver tag is worth about $5 million more than the tight end tag.

Fantasy Analysis:

Perhaps the Saints and Graham can come to an agreement on a long-term contract beforehand, and this will all go away. I know that's unlikely.
You really shouldn't care about whether Graham is tagged as a TE or WR; it has no fantasy effect. However, players who are franchise-tagged are still able to sign with another team if, one, the original team can't match the incoming offer and, two, if the pursuing team doesn't mind giving up a pair of first-round draft picks.
Now wouldn't that be a story?
