Eagles release WR Jason Avant

The Eagles have moved a wide receiver off of its roster. No, it is not DeSean Jackson.
The team confirmed Tuesday that it has released Jason Avant. This comes about two weeks before Avant was due a $1 million roster bonus. Avant, who has never surpassed 60 receptions, 700 yards or three touchdowns in any of his eight seasons, will turn 31 years old in April.
Avant posted a 38-447-2 line for the Eagles in 2013.

Fantasy Analysis:

Avant is good for one or two big games every year, which always shoots his fantasy ownership percentage through the roof. But he is as mediocre as they come, statistically. He is said to be a great presence in the clubhouse, but he's not worth the nearly $4 million he would have counted against the Eagles' cap for next season.
Avant's career isn't over, but fantasy owners should know all too well to pay him little consideration.
