Brandon Lloyd 's career looked like it was over after he spent all of last season without a roster spot anywhere. Now his career will continue and perhaps end where it began. Lloyd signed a one-year deal with the 49ers on Tuesday. The 49ers drafted Lloyd in the fourth round in 2003, and he spent three seasons there before moving on to the Redskins, Bears, Broncos, Rams, and most recently, Patriots.
Lloyd, who turns 33 in July, caught 74 passes for more than 900 yards in his one season with New England in 2012.
During his formative years in San Fran, Lloyd made some of the most ridiculous catches you will ever see. He also had a tendency to drop some easy chances. A decade later, I have no doubt that he can help a wide receiver group that doesn't have much to gloat about past Michael Crabtree and Anquan Boldin . But for fantasy purposes, he is probably worth only a flier in the last rounds of your draft, if that.
