Broncos QB Peyton Manning: 'I'm not at a 100 percent compared to what I was before my surgery'

Peyton Manning was a guest on David Letterman's late-night show on Monday and talked about an assortment of topics, including the Broncos' ugly loss to the Seahawks in the most recent Super Bowl, NFL on-field microphones picking up his signals, and the long road to recovery he taken following his 2011 neck surgery. To that end, Manning said he is still recovering.
"I'm not at a 100 percent compared to what I was before my surgery,'' Manning said. "But I have made strides each season and this year felt a lot better than I did the year before. These nerves just go at their own pace.''
Manning also said he has no intentions of retiring as he enters the third year of his five-year contract.

Fantasy Analysis:

So what if Manning can't throw with the same velocity that he could earlier in his career? He has been in the NFL since the '90s, taken the lumps that come with playing a game in which large men are trying to hit you really hard, thrown more than 9,000 passes, not including preseason, practices, offseason workouts, and whenever else he is perfecting his craft. At some point, all of us are never what we used to be, and it's not due to a neck surgery.
Still, Manning is obviously an elite player at the age of 38. Diminished arm strength and all, you know Manning should be the first quarterback off of fantasy draft boards.
