Report: Chargers WR Malcom Floyd expected to play this season

Nothing is official yet, but team and leagues sources have told U-T San Diego that Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd is set to play this season after earlier concerns that a 2013 neck injury would end his career.
This report comes after Floyd underwent a recent medical checkup when he was told that he was not at greater risk for a major spinal injury if he kept playing.
"The doc said … I'm at risk just like anybody else," Floyd said Monday via Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego. "There's not really a worry. … I'm feeling good. I think I feel like my old self."
But when asked if he had made a final decision on playing this season, Floyd only said, "Coach will keep you updated."

Fantasy Analysis:

Floyd has been doing everything he can to get back into football shape. It's possibly a really nice story after Floyd took a frightening hit early last year. He will turn 33 in September, but if Floyd can make it all the way back, he has a good chance of seeing plenty of playing time and perhaps starting. Not much is certain with San Diego's wide receiving corps past No. 1 option Keenan Allen. Yet, Floyd, who has been bogged down by numerous injuries throughout his career, has never been more than a WR3/4 for fantasy purposes. That shouldn't change as he reaches his mid-30s.
