Preparing for new broadcasting venture, Tebow still not ruling out comeback

Promoting the new SEC Network's two-hour gameday show, "SEC Nation" while on a stop in Nashville for the Music City Sports Festival, former Broncos and Jets quarterback Tim Tebow @TimTebow wasn't quite ready to close the door on his playing career when asked about the topic.

Tebow was in Nashville in May for a speaking engagement and worked out at the D-1 Training facility in Cool Springs getting several receivers from the Nashville Venom Professional Indoor Football Team to run routes for him for a couple of days.

"I'm training every day and feel like I'm the best that I've ever been," Tebow said. "I still love it, love playing, talking about it, and I'm just excited about whatever the future holds. Who knows what could happen? But I'm excited about it, though."

Although he was on the Jets in 2012, Tebow's last significant playing time came in 2011, when he took snaps for the Broncos, making the playoffs and taking the team to the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Fantasy Analysis:

From a fantasy perspective, his career was a waste of time. From a strictly interest perspective, there are few players who have been as polarizing as Tebow. His cutting by the New England Patriots during last season's pre-season was newsworthy. If it was anyone else, nobody would've known except for family members.

If, by chance, he gets another chance to be an NFL quarterback, it will be newsworthy. However, his inability to complete a pass on a simple crossing route makes it improbable that he'll ever get that chance. He's an eternal optimist, which is great. So, it's not surprising to hear him still "not ruling out" a return to the NFL. But, I'm an eternal realist. He's done in the NFL.

With that said, I think he'll be one of the best analysts on television for the SEC Network. He's intelligent, interesting, and has energy for days. I look forward to following this next step of his career.
