Pierre Thomas practices fully; Lynell Hamilton gets first-team touches

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton wouldn't say whether or not Pierre Thomas @Pierre_Thomas would be healthy enough to play Sunday versus Buffalo, but it's a good sign that Thomas practiced fully on Wednesday as he continues to recover from a sprained MCL. If he is healthy, he will probably step in for Mike Bell, who was stepping in for Thomas before he sprained his right knee in week 2. But Lynell Hamilton @LynellHamilton also cannot be ignored. The undrafted 24-year-old from San Diego State told reporters Wednesday that he received most of the reps with the first team and expects to have a heavy workload against Buffalo

Bell didn't practice on Tuesday and considering that his injury is very similar to the one that Thomas suffered in the preseason, you shouldn't expect him to be on the field for at least week three. We will continue to track Thomas' progress, but Hamilton is a guy to have on your radar. Any running back in this Saints' offense certainly has some value. Hamilton is listed at six feet, 235 pounds, so if anything he may be a good short-yardage back if Thomas and Bell both miss the game against the Bills.
