49ers RB Carlos Hyde looked like a steal during OTAs

ESPN.com's Bill Williamson wrote Monday that second-round rookie running back Carlos Hyde "shined out of the backfield as a runner and a receiver" during offseason workouts. Because of that, Williamson said Hyde "is likely to get a chance at playing time right away" and "is still looking like" a steal after falling to No. 57 overall in May's draft.

Fantasy Analysis:

Hyde should pass Kendall Hunter @KendallHunter32 for the No. 2 spot on the 49ers' RB depth chart soon enough. Hyde is clearly more talented. I want to believe in Marcus Lattimore @MarcusLattimore, but it's very realistic that his knees have sustained just too much damage for him to truly be the athlete he can be. Hyde is a worthwhile handcuff in re-draft leagues for 31-year-old Frank Gore. With Lattimore's future very much up in the air, Hyde has a good chance of becoming the Niners' running back of the future. He has robust dynasty value.
