Colts WR LaVon Brazill suspended at least 1 year for multiple substance abuse violations
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport breaks the news this afternoon that Colts wide receiver LaVon Brazill has been suspended for at least one full year due to multiple violations of the league's substance abuse policy. He was suspended for four games last season for an earlier violation of the same policy. Brazill was about to enter his third season out of the University of Ohio. He totaled less than 200 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons.
Brazill was only viable for fantasy owners playing in the deepest of leagues. At best, he would have been the team's No. 4 WR. With him gone, high-upside youngsters Da'Rick Rogers and Donte Moncrief will vie for targets behind Reggie Wayne , T.Y. Hilton, Hakeem Nicks, and a couple of tight ends. If I had to pick one late in a re-draft league, it would be Rogers. But his best days likely lie past 2014.
