Buccaneers TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins expects to be ready for camp following February foot surgery

Buccaneers rookie tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins was unable to participate in the team's OTAs and mandatory minicamp as his fractured left foot was still recovering from February surgery. He fully expects to be completely healed once training camp opens in a couple of weeks.
"I feel really good. My foot feels really good," Seferian-Jenkins said Wednesday. "I've been running routes, doing all the exercise and workout drills that they've asked me to do. I feel very comfortable and confident that I'll be ready to go when it comes to training camp."

Fantasy Analysis:

Seferian-Jenkins also couldn't be around the team during those spring practices because his classes at the University of Washington were still in session, and the NFL doesn't allow incoming players to attend any offseason workouts until their spring classes end. It's a ridiculous rule, but whatever.
Because of the injury and the school rule, AS-J is getting a late start to his career. He missed out on a lot of valuable instruction in May and June. He'll have to make up for lost time during training camp, and that month is hard enough as is for rookies. The Bucs have a couple of decent tight ends in Tim Wright and Brandon Myers @Bmyers83 who can keep the seat warm and let AS-J develop. The rookie could be an impact player during the second half of the season, and his size and athleticism fits the profile of a future stud TE. He should very popular in keeper and dynasty leagues.
