Falcons 'certain' WR Julio Jones will still be an explosive player
Despite multiple major foot injuries in three years, the Falcons have faith that wide receiver Julio Jones will be as good as ever once the 2014 season kicks off. ESPN's Vaughn McClure wrote Thursday that the team is "certain he'll return to his old explosive self."
Jones fractured his right foot last October, needed to undergo surgery and missed the rest of the season. He expects to be full-go in time for Week 1. From all accounts, his rehab is going smoothly.
The injuries are a concern, but fantasy owners seem to have a similar amount of faith as the Falcons. They are still drafting Jones as a top-six WR. I think it's a worthy gamble considering Jones' upside. He could finish the year as fantasy No. 2 overall wide receiver if he plays 16 games.
