Browns QB Brian Hoyer says he is fully healthy, ready for camp battle versus Johnny Manziel

The Cleveland Browns' best quarterback last season played just two full games. Brian Hoyer @bhoyer8 performed well in Weeks 3 and 4, leading the team to a couple of wins and throwing five touchdowns. Then, just as Hoyer was getting his feet under him, his right knee blew out. He tore his ACL early in the Browns' Week 5 game versus the Bills. Nine months later, Hoyer confirmed Saturday that he is 100 percent and ready to roll for his training camp competition versus Johnny Manziel.
"No doubt," Hoyer said when asked if he has fully recovered from his knee surgery. "I'm ready to go, so can't wait for Day 1.
"I'm not looking for anything to be handed to me and I know Johnny, he's going to push me to his full extent. I'm looking forward to just going out there and playing football and competing, so it's an exciting time."

Fantasy Analysis:

Hoyer took part in some OTAs with a brace on his knee. I assume that brace will be gone when training camp opens. At that point, Hoyer will be the Browns' starting quarterback. Can he hold off Manziel? Not for too long. Perhaps he gets into the season as the starter, but Hoyer will have to play pristine ball to keep the clamor for Manziel at a reasonable pitch. So many people outside of the organization will push for Manziel, because they want to see him play. I want to see him play. He is a pure shot of adrenaline. Hoyer is gray next to the colorful character we know as Johnny Football. At some point, the pressure is going to become too much, and even if Manziel has looked flawed in practice, and Hoyer is playing decently, the rook is going to be thrust into the spotlight, just how he likes it and just how many fans and media members want it.
Still, the fantasy value of either QB probably isn't going to get past the mediocre-QB2 range. I am more inclined to draft Manziel because of his running ability in the Browns' run-heavy offense.
