Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson to split carries equally
Some fantasy owners have been dreading this week, the week in which Marshawn Lynch returns to the Buffalo Bills after serving a three-game suspension. Lynch is a quality player -- he has rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons, and caught 47 passes for 300 yards last year. But Fred Jackson has been doing so well in his absence, the Bills can't possibly bench him. Well, they won't. Head coach Dick Jauron said Tuesday that he will probably "evenly distribute" the carries between Jackson and Lynch. Jackson gained 425 total yards on 76 touches with one touchdown in the first three weeks of the season.
Fantasy Analysis:
Who likes running back committees!? This will probably help the Bills as a team, but limit the fantasy value of both players significantly. Jackson and Lynch have a decent matchup this weekend at Miami. I don't think the 50-50 split will start right away. I still think that Jackson will get the majority of the carries this week, while Lynch works himself into regular-season game shape. I'm sure Lynch is in great condition, but when you have another great back available, as the Bills do, why not just ease Lynch back into the action on his first week back?
