Donald Brown could be out a few weeks
Indianapolis Colts running back Donald Brown didn't seem too concerned about the shoulder injury he suffered in week seven, but in a conversation on NFL Network Tuesday, Colts president Bill Polian indicated that Brown could miss 2-3 weeks with a shoulder contusion. Brown said after the game against the St. Louis Rams that he would be fine and that he knew how to deal with the injury because he had a similar ailment in college.
Fantasy Analysis:
This is apparently a very painful injury, so I see no problem with the Colts being cautious with their first-round pick. Brown looks to have a bright future in this league. He'll be back soon enough. With Brown out of action, Chad Simpson and Mike Hart will see some carries, but this note probably means some good things for Joseph Addai. Simpson and Hart aren't as good as Brown, which means that you should expect to see Addai on the field more often than in times when Brown was healthy. The Colts' upcoming schedule is pretty friendly toward running backs. In their next three games the Colts face the 49ers, Texans and Patriots, all at home. Addai hasn't really run well this season, but those match-ups and the lack of healthy talent behind him to take some of the carries mean that Addai is a good flex play for the next few weeks.
