Vince Young to start for Titans
It looks like Tennessee Titans owner Bud Adams will get his way. According to the Nashville Tennessean, Vince Young will start at quarterback for the team this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, replacing the struggling Kerry Collins. The quarterback switch comes a few days after Adams informed the coaching staff he wants Young to start immediately. Young, the team's first-round draft pick in 2006, has played sparingly since last September's season-opener against the Jaguars. Collins then replaced Young and has started 20 of the past 21 games, including the first six games this season, all losses. In two appearances this season, Young is 0-for-5 with an interception. His last start came last December at Indianapolis, when the Titans rested their starters for the playoffs.
Fantasy Analysis:
We'll see if Young can re-start his self-predicted his Hall of Fame career. Some very good fantasy match-ups are on his side, including home games against St. Louis, Miami and San Diego and a road game versus Seattle in weeks 14-17. He isn't blessed with the best wide receivers (Kenny Britt? Nate Washington?) and he'll probably be directed to lean heavily on the Titans' running game. He hasn't given us any reason to have faith in him in limited playing time this season, but he's still a big, athletic quarterback. He definitely should be picked up if you need some help at QB. I'm not expecting miracles, but maybe he can finally show why he was the No. 3 pick in the 2006 draft. If that happens, you don't want to miss out just because you decided to hang onto that second tight end.
