Aaron Rodgers to play through foot injuries

RSS

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings during Sunday's loss. It looks like he will attempt to continue to be one of fantasy's best quarterbacks despite a couple of foot injuries. Rodgers was reportedly seen "limping severely" in the locker room after the Vikings' game due to a sprained toe on one foot and a nagging sprain on the other. Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers could miss time in practice this week but he is expected to play Sunday at Tampa Bay without losing mobility.

Fantasy Analysis:
Of course, most of this note can be attributed to the Packers' deplorable pass protection this season. Rodgers has been sacked a league-high 31 times this season, including six by Minnesota on Sunday. He was sacked 14 times by the Vikings this season, so I'm sure Rodgers is happy to be finished with that season series. His offensive line has been wrecked by injuries and poor play, but as long as he can stand, you should expect Rodgers to see playing on Sundays and to be a fantasy must-start. He has 14 thrown touchdowns to only two interceptions this season while averaging 284 yards per game. With the Packers' poor defense, you know Rodgers will be throwing often. He has another fine match-up against the Buccaneers in week nine.
