Seahawks cut Edgerrin James

When the Seattle Seahawks signed Edgerrin James in August at the expense of T.J. Duckett, some thought he would have some value as a goal-line running back. So much for that. James, who averaged just 2.7 yards per carry in 46 attempts in Seattle and didn't score a touchdown, has been cut by the Seahawks. James had just six carries for 17 yards against the Cowboys on Sunday. In his heaviest workload of the season, when he got 16 carries in week five versus the Jaguars, James gained just 46 yards on 16 carries.

Fantasy Analysis:
James might get signed by another team, but at the age of 31, maybe he should just go off into the sunset and begin waiting for that call from the Hall of Fame later in life. James' inability to run in Seattle should all be blamed on him. The Seahawks as a team rank 29th in the NFL in rushing yards and their only rushing touchdown by a running back came in week one on a long run by Julius Jones. With James out of the picture, Jones and Justin Forsett are the only two notable running backs in Seattle. Louis Rankin is currently listed as the team's third back. Regardless, you should want much more of this stable. Jones has been the most productive running back in Seattle, but he has just 445 total yards in seven games and that one touchdown. He is a flex play at best in any week, no matter of the match-up. This team just can't run.
