DeAngelo Williams will be game-time decision

RSS

The most valuable fantasy player on the injury report this week -- with an injury that is actually worth watching -- is Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams. Williams was held out of Friday's practice due to a sore left knee. It was the second practice in three days that he missed after practicing in limited capacity on Thursday. He is expected to be a game-time decision and is listed as questionable to play Sunday at home against the Atlanta Falcons. In the past four games, Williams rushed for 548 yards and five touchdowns.

Fantasy Analysis:
The Panthers think that Williams will play, but we probably won't find out until about noon Eastern time this Sunday. What's unclear is if he aggravated the knee last week against the Saints or if this is just something that popped up. If he does play, you know that you should start him. He has a solid match-up against a very mediocre Falcons rush defense. Jonathan Stewart would stand to see a lot more carries if Williams can't play; Tyrell Sutton and Mike Goodson would back him up. Stewart is dealing with his own injury -- a nagging Achilles' tendon -- but that has been with him since the preseason and he's played with it with no visible restrictions.
