Michael Turner does have high ankle sprain

Atlanta Falcons stud running back Michael Turner does indeed have a high ankle sprain. Typically, a high-ankle sprain entails a recovery time of 4-6 weeks, but according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, the team is optimistic that Turner won't be shelved for as long as high ankle sprains usually keep players out because he doesn't have an extensive injury history. Turner ran for 111 yards on nine carries before he left the game with 9:08 left in the second quarter. He was replaced by Jason Snelling, who ran pretty well, albeit against a pretty bad run defense. He gained 61 yards on 18 carries, added three receptions for 32 yards and scored a touchdown.

Fantasy Analysis:
Well, you can hope for the best here, but a high ankle sprain means that Turner will likely miss games in week 11 and 12; at least. Jerious Norwood is Michael Turner's usual backup, but he hasn't played since week six due to a hip injury. He may return soon, but nothing seems imminent. Thus, Snelling becomes the team's lead back. The Falcons also re-signed Aaron Stecker -- who they cut a few days ago -- but he isn't much of a threat for playing time. I do like Snelling as a pickup, but if I had to choose between him and Justin Forsett -- who was another back that saw a lot more playing time Sunday due to an injury to the starter -- I would go with Forsett.
