Michael Turner doesn't know when he'll return
Atlanta Falcons running back Jason Snelling did a nice job in place of the injured Michael Turner on Sunday against the Giants with 76 yards and two touchdowns. When Turner gets back on the field, everyone knows that he is unquestionably the team's starter, but it is uncertain as to when Turner will come back. Turner has been receiving continued treatment for his right high ankle sprain, but he has yet to test the injury since injuring it against Carolina in week 10. Turner said that ankle sprains are tough to judge and that "Some guys take six weeks to bounce back, but I don't think I'll take that long."
Fantasy Analysis:
That's an awkward comment by Turner. It almost seems to me like he's leaving open the possibility that he will be out six weeks. Now, I don't think Turner will play this week against Tampa Bay, but I think he could return next week for a showdown against the Eagles. Jerious Norwood may return for Atlanta this week, but Snelling will remain the starter without Turner. And he has a tremendous match-up this Sunday against the Buccaneers, who rank last in the league in rush defense and are coming off a game against the Saints in which they gave up 167 yards on 24 carries to Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell. Snelling is probably a top 15 start at running back in week 12.
