Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Marion Barber all battling injury
Three very valuable Dallas Cowboys fantasy players are a bit dinged up right now. The player that the team is worried about most is tight end Jason Witten. Head coach Wade Phillips said Tuesday that Witten will be a "game-time" decision for Thursday's game against the Oakland Raiders. Phillips even said "We're a little bit worried about [Witten] being able to play." Witten sprained the middle of his foot in the second quarter of Sunday's 7-6 win over the Redskins. Witten never left the game, but he was limited in Tuesday's practice. Also limited in practice was quarterback Tony Romo. He took a knee to the back during Sunday's game. He said he was in pain for the rest of the game and that it affected his throwing, but he also said he will play on Thanksgiving Day. Marion Barber has a fractured thumb, but he played well against the Redskins, practiced fully Tuesday and will most likely start Thursday.
Fantasy Analysis:
Romo may be aching, but this is the NFL. He'll fight through it and start Thursday. Barber is relatively fine and is a very good start against the Raiders' poor rush defense. But we'll have to wait and see on Witten. He has been a disappointment this season with just 481 yards and one touchdown. If I had to guess, I'd say that he will play, but mid-foot sprains are very hard to get rid of quickly and it doesn't work in his favor that this is a short practice week for Dallas.
