Expert Picks for the Memorial Tournament
Overton is rounding into form much as he did last season and, in similar fashion, we are wondering if that will once again translate into a respectable week at Muirfield. He's a bit erratic, but he's also one of the tempting gambles on the board.
DJ has been beyond disappointing for most this season and talent alone gets him on the top 30. He's one of the best in the young American set, but his history on this track fails to impress and he comes off a disappointing week at the Byron Nelson.
Bill Haas [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #29
We're reaching for top talent in the backup ranks at this point and that puts Haas on the short list. He's been devoted to low scores this season and has been especially potent against top fields, as we have again this week.
Like Haas, Laird has pushed his game to a new level this season and the level of his game this season has been rewarding to many who have taken advantage. He's a solid fantasy option, but he falls back in value with this much talent in the field.
Aaron Baddeley [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #87
Another member of the "what have you done for me lately" set, Baddeley has been so good this season that we feel the need to get him in the top 30 as a potential member of your fantasy bench. He doesn't own a ton of history at Muirfield, but his game is a good match for these links.
There he is. Few are still on the bandwagon as Villegas has completely fallen off the scent of success, but we are sneaking him into the top 30 with hopes his talent will re-emerge and help us look good! His game is in there somewhere. He just needs to find it.
