Expert Picks for The Barclays
Robert Karlsson [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #162
In his last seven Tour events, Karlsson has three top-fives while only missing one cut. The Swede has 11 wins on the European Tour and has come very close to victory in the states, having lost the last two St. Jude Classics in playoffs.
Andres Romero [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #154
Prior to finishing T45 at the PGA Championship, Romero finished third at the RBC Canadian Open and T4 at The Greenbrier Classic. The native of Argentina registers 15th in birdie average and 16th in All-Around Ranking.
During a stretch of seven tournaments from May through mid-July, Love saw five finishes of 16th or better. After missing the cut at The Greenbrier Classic and finishing T72 at the PGA Championship, it appeared the 47-year-old veteran might be done turning back the clock. Not so, as his 12th-place result at the Wyndham Championship proves.
John Senden [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #125
For much of the season Senden has been a solid, if unspectacular, player. In 21 starts, he’s made 16th cuts with 11 top-25 finishes. In addition, the Australian has finished T14 and T19 in his last two events.
Carl Pettersson [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #145
He’s not impressive in any major statistic, but Pettersson has been performing lately. In his last six starts, the Swede has four finishes of 24th or better, including a top-10 and a T4 last week at the Wyndham Championship.
Aaron Baddeley [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #87
When Baddeley manages to make the cut, he typically finishes quite well. In 18 starts, the Australian has made 13 cuts with eight top-25s and four top-10s. However, three of those cuts have come in his last five events. Baddeley can get hot with the putter, currently fifth in birdie average and 14th in strokes gained – putting, but is not the safest option given his recent unreliability.
