Golf Rankings for Zurich Classic of New Orleans
Justin Rose [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #5
Rose had finished eighth or better in all three of his stroke play events of 2013 prior to a T25 showing at the Masters. He's played TPC Louisiana each of the last four seasons, finishing a career-best T10 last year. Facing a somewhat limited field, Rose should have plenty of room to blossom once again this week.
Keegan Bradley [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #14
A disastrous third round at the Masters put a halt to four straight top-10 finishes for Bradley this season. He's playing TPC Louisiana for the third time in his career, finishing T26 in 2011 and missing last year's cut. Those issues aside, Bradley has been on top of his game for much of the season and should do just fine in the bayou.
Bubba Watson [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #13
After winning this event in 2011, Watson finished T18 in his title defense last year at TPC Louisiana. Bubba stumbled in the Masters with a T50, but owns four top-20s in his seven stroke play events. Watson looks like a safe option this week and is one of the few big names suiting up this week.
Jason Dufner [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #18
Dufner returns to TPC Louisiana as the defending champ and owner of four consecutive top-10s at the site. He’s only missed one cut in his last six starts, finishing 35th or better four times. Dufner hasn’t scored a top-10 all season, but would be the top weekly selection with a little more momentum.
Dating back to last year, Horschel's 22 consecutive cuts made is longest active streak on tour. In his last three starts he has finished T2 at Redstone, T3 at TPC San Antonio and T9 at Harbour Town. Horschel only looks more and more bankable as the season unfolds.
Charley Hoffman [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #167
In his last two starts, Hoffman has finished T3 at TPC San Antonio and T6 at Harbour Town. He’s only scored a single top-20 in six trips to TPC Louisiana, but is certainly playing well enough to consider with so much experience on this track.
Rickie Fowler [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #32
Fowler has finished inside the top 15 in four of his seven stroke play events this season while only missing one cut. He's finished T10 and T26 the last two years at TPC Louisiana. Fowler is another stout player that should take advantage of this week's entries.
The 23-year-old Olesen scored a pair of podium finishes in four starts on the European Tour earlier this season before coming stateside. His last two completed stroke play finishes resulted in a solo seventh at Bay Hill and a T6 in the Masters. Olesen is playing TPC Louisiana for the first time.
Brendon de Jonge [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #73
In addition to a pair of top-10s in his last three starts, de Jonge has finished inside the top 30 in five of the last seven. He’s been solid at TPC Louisiana the last two years with a T18 and a T26.
Fredrik Jacobson [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #47
Jacobson is playing TPC Louisiana for the first time since 2008, but is riding a streak of six straight top-25s this season. Jacobson currently ranks seventh on Tour in scoring average and eighth in strokes gained-putting.
Jimmy Walker [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #80
Walker is a safe middle-tier option thanks to 19 consecutive cuts made, dating back to last year. He also finished a career-best T18 at TPC Louisiana last year. Walker currently sits 11th in scoring average and 15th in All-Around Rankings.
Nick Watney [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #23
Watney hasn’t done much at TPC Louisiana since winning the 2007 event, missing two of his next four cuts. He’s made five consecutive cuts this season, however, and captured a solid T13 in the Masters.
