Golf Rankings for Zurich Classic of New Orleans
Cameron Tringale [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #159
Tringale has seen his finish at TPC Louisiana improve from a T28 in 2010 to a T18 in 2011, followed by a career-best T7 last year. Since February, Tringale owns five finishes inside the top 30 and two missed cuts in seven starts.
Charles Howell III [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #56
Howell is a very capable player, but an inconsistent one. He’s finished 12th or better in two of his last four starts, but is coming off a missed cut at Harbour Town. CH3 has finished T2, T43, T13 and T39 the last four years at TPC Louisiana.
After two lackluster performances, Spieth came right back with a T9 at Harbour Town. The 19-year-old has now registered three top-10s in just seven starts this season and is already closing in on a Tour card for next year.
This week is Overton’s first start since a season-high T7 at TPC San Antonio. Over the last four years in this event, he has finished inside the top 20 each time.
Ernie Els [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #24
Els made his first career start at TPC Louisiana last year and lost to Jason Dufner in a playoff. He’s missed two of his last three cuts this season, but finished T13 in between at the Masters.
Rollins has played TPC Louisiana each of the last four years, all top-30s. Last year resulted in a career-best T7. Rollins is coming off his second missed cut of the year, but has tallied six top-25s in 10 starts.
K.J. Choi [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #70
Choi has made four straight cuts at TPC Louisiana, highlighted by a T3 in 2011. He’s registered three finishes of 21st or better in his last five starts this season.
Chris Kirk [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #79
Kirk missed the cut in his first career start at TPC Louisiana last year. However, he’s made seven straight cuts this season, scoring six finishes of 33rd or better in that span.
Robert Garrigus [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #38
Garrigus has only missed one cut this season, but has slowed down a bit after opening the year with four straight finishes of 22nd or better. He hasn’t played TPC Louisiana since missing the cut in 2009 and 2010.
David Toms - World Ranking: #61
It has been a struggle for Toms, but his T13 in the Masters is a season-high and his final round of 67 matched a Sunday-best. Tom has played TPC Louisiana four straight years, scoring a pair of top-20s.
Davis has made five straight cuts at TPC Louisiana, but is still seeking his first top-15. He is heading to the site on a streak of three straight top-30s this season.
Villegas has been a risky option in recent years, but has now finished inside the top 20 in three of his last four starts. Villegas is coming off a season-high T9 at Harbour Town, his first top-10 since June of 2011. Villegas placed T18 in this event last year.
