Golf Rankings for AT&T National
Pat Perez [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #147
Back in 2007, Perez finished T3 at Congressional and returned the following year with a T12 showing. He was on pace for a similar result last year, sitting eighth entering the final round, but dropped to T29 on Sunday. His most recent outing was a T8 at the Memorial.
Leishman entered last year’s event at Congressional inside the top 15, but tumbled to a T32 finish. He played in the 2011 U.S. Open and placed T51, once again having issues on the final day of the tournament. Leishman has only missed one cut in his last eight starts while tallying five top-30 finishes.
Laird barely missed the cut in the 2011 U.S. Open at Congressional, but looked just fine last year with a T11 showing in this event. Laird has impressed at times this season by winning the Texas Open and scoring a top-five in THE PLAYERS. However, he’s also placed outside of the top 50 four times over his last seven starts.
Spieth missed the cut in his first appearance at Congressional a year ago. He’s also coming off a missed cut at Merion (perhaps burned out by the grueling qualifying process and travel). Spieth remains one of the top young names in golf and always worth a look.
Stroud will look to overcome last week’s playoff defeat at Cromwell by playing Congressional, where he withdrew last year after just eight holes. Stroud recently finished T7 at Colonial to give him two top-10s in his last three starts.
Ken Duke - World Ranking: #173
The 44-year-old Duke is coming off his first career Tour victory. He’s also missed four cuts in his previous six starts and hasn’t played Congressional since missing the cut in both 2007 and 2008.
