Golf Rankings for RBC Canadian Open
Daniel Summerhays [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #129
After missing three straight cuts, Summerhays finished T9 at The Greenbrier Classic, T4 at the John Deere Classic and T2 in last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship. Summerhays also put together some nice results last year with a lot of missed cuts.
David Hearn [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #121
Hearn is coming off a season-high T2 in the John Deere Classic and has collected four finishes of 21st or better over his last six events. The Canadian native played the 2008 Open at Glen Abbey and finished T58. Hearn is currently 17th in birdie average.
Morgan Hoffmann [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #190
Since missing the cut at the U.S. Open, Hoffman has finished inside the top 25 in four consecutive starts with three top-15s. The 23 year old is impressive ranking 13th in birdie average and 24th in All-Around Ranking.
Jim Furyk [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #23
Furyk won the Canadian Open at different sites in 2006 and 2007. He returned the following year to finish T14 at Glen Abbey. Furyk has missed two of his last three cuts this season and is in search of his first top 20 since April.
Charley Hoffman [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #86
Hoffman played the 2008 Canadian Open at Glen Abbey and finished T28. He ranks ninth in birdie average and sixth in All-Around Ranking, but is coming off a missed cut in the John Deere Classic.
In his last two appearances, Jones finished T2 in The Greenbrier Classic and T7 in the John Deere. He’s now up to sixth in total driving and 12th in All-Around Ranking.
Chris Kirk [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #48
Kirk played last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship (the alternate event to the Open Championship) and finished inside the top 10 for the first time, doing so twice in the first two months of the season. Kirk ranks 10th in birdie average, 17th in scoring average and 10th in All-Around Ranking.
Ryan Palmer [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #60
Palmer played Glen Abbey in 2008 and 2009 finishing T22 and T64, respectively. Before missing the cut at the U.S. Open, Palmer had finished 33rd or better in five straight starts with a pair of top-fives. In his last two starts Palmer finished T34 at Congressional and T62 at the Greenbrier.
Reavie claimed the 2008 Canadian Open at Glen Abbey in a wire-to-wire victory. He’s made eight consecutive cuts with five top-30 finishes. Reavie ranks a respectable 29th in total driving and 32nd in scoring average.
Campbell is coming off a season-high T7 in last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship and has now finished 16th or better in three of his last four starts. He ranks outside of the top 100 in most statistics, but appears to be turning it around.
Chris Stroud [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #78
Stroud has made seven consecutive cuts with three top-10s, including last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship. At the Canadian Open he’s made the cut each of the last three years and is a first timer at Glen Abbey.
After missing six straight cuts, Thompson has made six of his last seven, most recently finishing T12 in the John Deere Classic and solo fourth in last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship. He finished T5 at Glen Abbey in 2008 and T53 in 2009. Thompson ranks 13th in ball striking and 19th in total driving.
