WR Randy Moss wants play again
Monday was Randy Moss' 35th birthday, and he gave all football fans quite a surprise. Moss said via a Ustream.tv live video that he plans to play in the NFL in 2012.
"I just want to go to a team and play some football," Moss said. "... Faith, family and football, that's my M.O., bro. Your boy be back for the upcoming season."
The last the NFL saw Moss on the field, he was embarrassingly awful on the Tennessee Titans and wrapping up a horrid 2010 season that saw him play for three teams. In total, he set career lows by wide margins with 28 catches for 393 yards in 2010.
Fantasy Analysis:
And apparently Moss still has his trademark speed. Former teammate Cris Carter said Moss could run a 4.3-40. And another former teammate, Heath Evans, sent Moss a text asking what his 40-yard dash time would be today. Moss responded with "4.35 to 4.38." Yeah, OK. If that's anywhere near true, Moss will find a job in no time. I think he'll latch on somewhere in the NFL. It's a risk, and Moss may very well just quit on his new team as he has done with just about every other team he has played on. But if he does indeed sign with a team -- especially one in need of a field-stretching WR -- he'll be someone to put on your fantasy draft cheat sheet.
