NFL upholds Saints suspensions

All Sean Payton's appeal did was delay the inevitable. The NFL denied the appeals sent to them by the New Orleans Saints head coach, general manager Mickey Loomis and assistant coach Joe Vitt. All of this stems from the team's bounty program from the past few seasons. Payton was originally scheduled to start his suspension on April 1, but because of the appeals process, he must cut off all communication with the organization by April 16. He will be suspended for the entire 2012 season. The suspensions of Loomis (eight games) and Vitt (six games) will begin at the end of the preseason. The team will also be docked of its 2012 second-round pick. However, the league's statement Monday left the door for a possible reduction of the Saints' $500,000 fine, the suspended individuals lost pay, and a change to the penalty that originally docked the Saints of their 2013 second-round pick.

Fantasy Analysis:

No fantasy values change here. I still won't speculate much on how Payton's absence will affect the Saints' offensive production until Drew Brees @drewbrees, Marques Colston @MarquesColston, Jimmy Graham @TheJimmyGraham and others hit the field. But let's just say I'm not that worried right now.
