Redskins make it official, draft QB Robert Griffin III
We've basically known about it for a couple of months now, but the Washington Redskins made it for real Thursday night by selecting Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III with the second pick in the NFL Draft. The 2011 Heisman Trophy winner will join a fierce division but will also join a team with some intriguing offensive options.
Fantasy Analysis:
I basically wrote about Luck being the No. 1 pick in this draft a couple of days ago when the Colts' GM confirmed the pick. But I haven't written anything about RGIII. Yes, the Redskins overpaid for Pierre Garcon
. But with him, Fred Davis, Santana Moss
and Roy Helu
, Griffin has a bevy of nice weapons to work with. Not to forget that he has very good speed. I'm not saying that he'll repeat Cam Newton's numbers in 2012, but I think he'll have a more productive season from a fantasy aspect than Andrew Luck and, I think he has an outside shot at ending the year around the top-15 at the position.
