Blaine Gabbert's got to be happy: Jaguars draft WR Justin Blackmon at No. 5
The Jacksonville Jaguars got the wide receiver they so desperately needed to team with their young quarterback. The Jags took Oklahoma State WR Justin Blackmon with the No. 5 pick Thursday night. Jacksonville moved up to draft the two-time All-American in a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It cost the Jaguars their No. 7 overall pick as well as a pick in the fourth and seventh round.
Fantasy Analysis:
The Jaguars signed free agent Laurent Robinson
, but Blackmon gives the Jaguars a tall, big-play threat. He's not going to blow the doors off of any defense -- he has drawn comparisons to Anquan Boldin -- but he can be a huge volume receiver with the ability to break tackles. It's something that QB Blaine Gabbert
required. But I'm not sure this pick will cure all that ails him. His pocket presence is still horrid, and Blackmon's immediate fantasy numbers will suffer. I'd give Blackmon a look in a PPR league.
