Bucs get some competition for LeGarrette Blount with RB Doug Martin

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't orginally have another first-round choice after selecting Mark Barron at No. 7. But they traded back into the first round -- up to pick No. 31 -- to select Boise State running back Doug Martin on Thursday night. To get the pick, Tampa Bay gave away its second-rounder (No. 36 overall) and a fourth-round pick (No. 101) to the Broncos picks Nos. 31 and 121. Martin was a star at the combine and has drawn comparisons to Ray Rice.

Fantasy Analysis:

He ran 4.55-40, but at 5-foot-9 and about 210 pounds, Martin is able to stay low to the ground and keep running through contact. He can do two big things that Blount can't -- cut in small spaces and catch passes. Right now, Blount is probably still the Bucs' back on first and second downs with Wilson coming in on third. But if Blount gets hurt or is simply ineffective, Wilson has the abilities to be a three-down back; Blount does not. For now, Martin is a handcuff/late-round sleeper.
