Browns acknowledge that Trent Richardson is their starting RB
Surprising to no one, the Cleveland Browns have unofficially named Trent Richardson their starting running back. When asked Thursday if that was the case, Browns head coach Pat Shurmur responded, "that's probably fair to say." The Browns pulled the trigger on a 4-for-1 draft-day trade just so they could move up one spot to select Richardson at No. 3 overall.
Fantasy Analysis:
He was already considered to be far ahead of both Brandon Jackson
and Montario Hardesty
on the depth chart. This is just further confirmation. Next, I would like to know Shurmur's thoughts on how much work he plans to give Richardson in his rookie season. Right now, Richardson is a high-end RB2 with RB1 potential right away if he's given enough touches. Considering the Browns' lack of talent on offense, I'm pretty sure they'll lean on him a lot in 2012.
