Bengals RB Bernard Scott expects 'even' split with BenJarvus Green-Ellis
Cincinnati Bengals running back Bernard Scott set a career-high in carries last season with a modest 112. With long-time mainstay Cedric Benson out and BenJarvus Green-Ellis
in, Scott hopes he can up that total this season. How much so is something he doesn't know.
"I think me and BenJarvus are going to be ready to handle how many carries they want to give us," Scott told the Cincinnati Enquirer on Wednesday. "I think it will be pretty even, but you never know."
Fantasy Analysis:
The Bengals won't depend on BJG-E as much as they did with Benson, but they just aren't going to give Scott a chance to be an every-down back; that's not how they view him. Green-Ellis and Scott will probably split the early-down work with Scott playing often on third downs and Green-Ellis coming in for short-yardage and goal-line situations. Scott has more upside, but Green-Ellis will probably be the more productive RB. Regardless, I'm not looking forward to investing in either runner.
Man, that's a lot of hyphens.
