Saints TE Jimmy Graham shouldn't expect a new contract in 2012
With QB Drew Brees
breaking the proverbial bank by signing a five-year, $100 million contract, TE Jimmy Graham
won't be getting a raise anytime soon. After a break out campaign in 2011, Graham is under contract through the 2013 season. Based on his rookie contract, he will get $540K in 2012 and $575K in 2013. Expect his raise to come prior to his free agent date in 2014.
Fantasy Analysis:
Graham must understand that having Brees as his starting QB means the opportunity to load up his own Brinks truck is coming soon. The third year tight end sounds excited that Brees is finally signed as per his recent tweet @TheJimmyGraham: "Congrats @drewbrees...very happy for you, your family and all the Whodaat Nation...let's go get the trophy." The Saints 2012 NFL schedule, not to mention a suspect defense, has them set up to be in a shootout just about every weekend. A plus 100-catch season (can't figure out how he only got to 99 in his sophomore year) is on the horizon down in the Bayou for the golden Graham. If you haven't already done so, now is the time to move Graham onto your top two TE fantasy draft list.
