11. Jeff Burton, #31 AT&T Mobility Chevrolet, Richard Childress Racing

Burton was 3rd in the Daytona 500 in 2007 and also had a shot to win the 500 this year before he finished 13th. He did lead 9 laps, but the field stormed past him on a late restart. Burton blew an engine at Talladega in the fall and probably shouldn't be on your class A roster; however he will be another solid finisher this weekend.

12. Clint Bowyer, #07 Jack Daniel's Chevrolet, Richard Childress Racing

Bowyer has been much better in plate races than his finishes indicate. He notched a 6th and a 10th at Daytona in his rookie year and followed that up with a 7th in the July race last year. He was a solid 11th at Talladega last fall and was running up front in the 500 before an incident with Juan Montoya. However, there are much better class A options this weekend.

13. Greg Biffle, #16 Ameriquest Ford, Roush-Fenway Racing

Biffle probably won't be on your roster this weekend, but he was 10th in the Daytona 500 after leading 7 laps and was one of the more impressive B class drivers during the event.

14. Kasey Kahne, #9 Budweiser Dodge, Gillett-Evernham Motorsports

Despite his 2007 struggles on other tracks, Kahne was very solid in restrictor plate races, averaging an 11th place finish. He was 16th at Talladega in the new car and ended up 7th in the Daytona 500 after a strong run in the Qualifying races.

15. Brian Vickers, #83 Red Bull Toyota, Team Red Bull

Vickers' only career win came in a plate race at Talladega in 2006 (a cheap win, but a win nonetheless) and after his 12th place finish in the Daytona 500, he is the top class C choice this weekend. He also led 8 laps in the fall event at Talladega before getting involved in a crash to end his day.

16. Kevin Harvick, #29 Shell/Reeses/GM Chevrolet, Richard Childress Racing

Harvick isn't in the upper tier of class A choices this weekend; he was 20th in the fall at Talladega and finished 14th in Daytona. He hasn't had a shot at winning a plate race since he won the Daytona 500 on a last lap pass.

17. Elliott Sadler, #19 Dodge Dealers Dodge, Gillett-Evernham Motorsports

Sadler has long been a solid pick on the restrictor plate tracks and was 6th in the Daytona 500. Despite other problems last season, he also led 25 laps at Talladega in the fall event before finishing 24th after a crash.

18. Martin Truex, Jr., #1 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet, Dale Earnhardt Inc

Truex, like the other DEI drivers, blew up in the fall race at Talladega. Hopefully their engine woes are behind them; however, he still only finished 20th in the Daytona 500. He will be a more valuable selection later in the year at places like Dover and Pocono.

19. Matt Kenseth, #17 DeWalt Tools Ford, Roush-Fenway Racing

There are better class A options, as Kenseth has struggled as of late on the plate tracks. He was off the lead lap at both Daytona and Talladega after problems in each event.

20. Carl Edwards, #99 Office Depot Ford, Roush-Fenway Racing

Edwards was 14th at Talladega in the fall an 19th in the Daytona 500. He showed he was capable of leading during Daytona Speed-week, but during the race was never a serious threat.

21. Michael Waltrip, #55 Napa Auto Parts Toyota, Michael Waltrip Racing

Waltrip has four career plate victories and should be one of the class C drivers you consider this weekend. His finishes (25th at Talladega and 29th at Daytona) leave a lot to be desired, but he led laps in both races and could reel off a top 10. He has a much higher ceiling than the other class C drivers (with the exception of Brian Vickers).

22. Bobby Labonte, #43 Cheerios Dodge, Petty Enterprises

Labonte won't be a threat to win, but he ran a smart race at Daytona and finished 11th. He also led 3 laps in Talladega in the fall before getting caught in a crash to end his day early.
