This weekend's Cup race at Texas should end up looking a lot like the one last weekend in Atlanta unless something crazy happens. You could actually keep the same roster you had last week, but can now look to possibly add someone like Kurt Busch or Jamie McMurray as sleeper picks after they have had consecutive top 10 finishes on tracks with a 1.5 mile layout.

1. Carl Edwards, #99 Office Depot Ford, Roush-Fenway Racing

This is a pretty clear cut number one from my vantage point. The 99 team won at Texas earlier this year and is coming off a strong win at Atlanta after leading 98 laps. He also won in Vegas and was 2nd in Kansas. Go with him on your class A roster.

2. Jimmie Johnson, #48 Lowe's Chevrolet, Hendrick Motor Sports

It will take Johnson suffering from bad luck to not become the Series Champion for the third straight year. He was 2nd in both Atlanta last week and Texas earlier this year to Edwards. He won in Kansas and was 2nd in Chicago. He should be your other class A driver without question.

3. Matt Kenseth, #17 DeWalt Tools Ford, Roush-Fenway Racing

As expected, Kenseth was strong at Atlanta last week. He led the most laps and ended up 4th. He was 11th but led 68 laps in Texas earlier this year, and has scored top 10's in Atlanta, Kansas, Charlotte, and Chicago. He is only getting stronger heading into the final three events.

4. Kyle Busch, #18 M & M's Toyota, Gibbs Racing

Busch was able to get a much needed top 5 last weekend in Atlanta, and was 3rd earlier this year in Texas. He has a couple of wins on the 1.5 mile speedways this season (Chicago, Atlanta) and should be on your class B roster.

5. Greg Biffle, #16 3M Ford, Roush-Fenway Racing

Biffle had (for him) a disappointing result in Atlanta where he finished 10th. This was a step down from his 5 top 5's on 1.5 mile tracks this season. He will be a strong class B driver this weekend.

6. Denny Hamlin, #11 FedEx Toyota, Gibbs Racing

Hamlin makes the jump this week into the upper third of the rankings. He shredded that "average" label I put on him last weekend after several mediocre runs on the 1.5 mile tracks and ended up a strong 3rd in Atlanta. He scored a top 5 earlier this year at Texas and could threaten to win.

7. Jeff Burton, #31 AT&T Mobility Chevrolet, Richard Childress Racing

Burton went from winning in Charlotte to finishing 18th in Atlanta. He scored top 10's this year at Kansas, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Texas, and Charlotte again earlier this year. While this past week may be an aberration, it certainly moves him out of the Edwards/Johnson/Kenseth category.

8. Kurt Busch, #2 Miller Lite Dodge, Penske Racing South

Busch was 3rd in Charlotte and 6th in Atlanta, meaning he is a valid class A choice for the first time on a non-plate track this year. I'm not sure what his team has done to turn things around, but whatever it is 2009 is looking a lot better.

9. Jeff Gordon, #24 DuPont Chevrolet, Hendrick Motor Sports

Gordon was 9th in Atlanta last week, and has had a consistent season on the 1.5 mile tracks. Other finishes include a 5th in the spring at Atlanta, 4th and 8th in Charlotte, 11th in Chicago, and 4th in Kansas. He is a notch below the rest of the top tier this week at Texas.

10. Dale Earnhardt Jr, #88 AMP/National Guard Chevrolet, Hendrick Motorsports

Earnhardt had top 5's in three of the races on 1.5 mile tracks early in the year, then began to have average finishes every time out. His 11th place run at Atlanta doesn't lead you to believe he can contend for the win this weekend like other class B drivers you may use.

11. Tony Stewart, #20 Home Depot Toyota, Gibbs Racing

Stewart continued his up one week down another trend with his 17th place finish in Atlanta. He was 2nd in Atlanta the first time there, and also had nice results in Chicago (5th), Texas in the spring (7th), and Charlotte (11th in the fall).

12. Jamie McMurray, #26 Crown Royal Ford, Roush-Fenway Racing

Ranking McMurray here may shock the fantasy sports world. Along with Kurt Busch, McMurray has yanked his season out of the doldrums with a 5th place finish in Charlotte and a 7th place finish in Atlanta. He was 14th in Texas earlier this year, and stands to be the sleeper in the class B group that may pull off a top 5.
