Truex has been 11th and 14th in his two career races at Darlington, making him an enticing class B choice for this weekend. He was a solid 5th in Richmond and 8th at Phoenix, and has some positive momentum at this point in the season.
15. Kurt Busch, #2 Miller Lite Dodge, Penske Racing South
Busch isn't a valuable asset in the class A group at this point, although he was 12th in this race last season and his teammate was part of the Goodyear test group. There are much better options, with only 1 top 5 in 11 starts (that memorable finish with Ricky Craven).
16. Matt Kenseth, #17 DeWalt Tools Ford, Roush-Fenway Racing
Kenseth is riding a disastrous stretch of races, with 4 finishes of 30th or worse in his last 5 starts. He has only 1 career top 5 at Darlington in 14 races, but his last two races he has been 3rd and 7th. He led 29 laps last May en route to the top 10 and while he is most definitely not a good class A choice right now, this may be the weekend he starts to turn things around.
17. Kevin Harvick, #29 Shell/Reeses/GM Chevrolet, Richard Childress Racing
Harvick was 17th in this race last season and has had limited success in Darlington over the course of his career with 2 top 5's. There are much better class A options this weekend.
18. Jamie McMurray, #26 Crown Royal Ford, Roush-Fenway Racing
McMurray was 16th in this race last season and has 3 top 10's and 2 top 5's in his career at Darlington. He was 42nd in 2006 after an engine failure, but he has been solid otherwise. As strange as it may sound after the year he has had, this may be a weekend where you consider putting McMurray on your class B roster.
19. Bobby Labonte, #43 Cheerios Dodge, Petty Enterprises
Labonte probably won't make your class B roster, but his history at Darlington is worth something. He has a win and 5 top 5's in 27 starts, though he has steeply declined since he left Joe Gibbs Racing. Starting in the fall of 2003, Labonte had finishes of 7th, 2nd, and 9th. He finished 17th in 2005, but since moving to Petty has finished 22nd and 19th.
20. Reed Sorenson, #41 Target Dodge, Chip Ganassi Racing
Sorenson had problems during last season's race, but was 11th in 2006. Although he was 12th in Richmond, he hadn't finished better than 24th since the fourth race of the season in Atlanta and there are far better class B options.
21. Casey Mears, #5 Kellogg's/Carquest Chevrolet, Hendrick Motorsports
Mears had an engine failure in Darlington last season and has had awful luck all season, although some has been of his own doing. His best career finish in 7 starts at Darlington is 15th and he should be avoided this weekend.
22. Elliott Sadler, #19 Dodge Dealers Dodge, Gillett-Evernham Motorsports
Sadler was 2nd in Darlington in 2002, then after a period where he reeled off 3 straight top 10's he has been 20th or worse in his last 4 starts. He was 21st last season and shouldn't be on your class B roster this weekend.
