Fantasy NASCAR Preview: New HampshireCarl Edwards, #99 Office Depot Ford, Roush-Fenway RacingThe third of NASCAR's current "Big Three," Edwards was 17th in June to go with finishes of 12th and 13th last season at New Hampshire. Despite his overall strength, he's not the class A driver of choice this weekend. Martin Truex, Jr., #1 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet, Dale Earnhardt IncTruex has three straight top 5 finishes in New Hampshire, and is a solid class B selection this week. His 4th place run in the spring was one he was grateful for, but he wasn't nearly as strong as he was last season. The team looked fairly solid at Richmond last week, and it's possible they can build a little on that run. Matt Kenseth, #17 DeWalt Tools Ford, Roush-Fenway RacingKenseth has been consistent at New Hampshire, but consistent isn't what you're looking for from a class A driver. He had a couple of top 10's last season (9th and 7th) and was 18th in June. Casey Mears, #5 Kellogg's/Carquest Chevrolet, Hendrick MotorsportsMears gathered his 2nd career top 10 at New Hampshire in the June event -- also his second top 10 in a row. That gives him two top 10's in 11 starts. That said, he is still a lame duck driver that will be out at the end of this season. There are better options, but he may not be a bad driver to keep on your bench and watch as the weekend progresses. Ryan Newman, #12 ALLTEL Dodge, Penske Racing SouthNewman hasn't been that impressive of late, but did finish in the top 10 both times last season at New Hampshire and was 15th in the June event. Remember, top 20 finishes are like top 10's with the crazy finishing order. Either way, there are better class B choices. Greg Biffle, #16 3M Ford, Roush-Fenway RacingBiffle was 13th and 21st in his last two starts on the Magic Mile. He has 4 career top 10's at New Hampshire in 12 starts, but probably isn't one of the best class B options this week. Brian Vickers, #83 Red Bull Toyota, Red Bull RacingVickers was 16th in June, and had a 5th place run in 2006 at Loudon. Again, he's a great class C choice, but consider this before using him: there are races left at Charlotte, Texas, Atlanta, and Kansas. Kasey Kahne, #9 Budweiser Dodge, Gillett-Evernham MotorsportsKahne has 4 top 10's in 9 New Hampshire starts. He was 30th in June, and should be left off your class B roster despite his solid history. Elliott Sadler, #19 Dodge Dealers Dodge, Gillett-Evernham MotorsportsSadler was 5th in the spring, had two awful runs last year, and was 6th in the fall of 2006. If history holds true, he should run terribly for the next couple of events at New Hampshire before reeling off another top 10. He did come back from a lap down to finish in the top 5 in June, but remember that several guys who were better than him got stuck behind him after the rain started. Bobby Labonte, #43 Cheerios Dodge, Petty EnterprisesLabonte scored his first top 10 since his 3rd place run in 2005 in June, when he finished 10th. He's not a good choice when compared with other class B drivers who could win this week, but he should finish solidly.
