Comments: NASCAR Picks for New Hampshire

After another crash-filled trip to Daytona, this weekend's race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway should be a welcomed break for fantasy owners. After all, the flat, tight corners of the 1.0-mile oval make side-by-side racing difficult, let alone allow for the three-wide racing that led to several big wrecks at Daytona. Of course, fuel mileage, rain and pit strategy are waiting to jumble up the running order this weekend, but at the very least, fantasy owners shouldn't have to worry about seeing their entire roster leveled in a matter of seconds.

In general, New Hampshire is one of the more unique tracks on the schedule. It's shaped very similarly to Martinsville, but it is the same length as Dover. The longer straightaways produce higher speeds, and drivers need to conserve their brakes to make sure they can maneuver the flat corners in the later stages. Passing tends to be difficult, but from a fantasy perspective, the drivers that tend to run well at the flat tracks have a lot of success at New Hampshire. As long as Mother Nature cooperates and doesn't produce a rain-shortened race, Sunday's race could provide a good opportunity for fantasy owners to pile up some points.
