Comments: NASCAR Picks for Dover
Although five of the 10 races in the Chase will be held at 1.5-mile tracks, this weekend's trip to Dover International Speedway marks the second of two consecutive races that will be held at track's with unique layouts. Fresh off last Sunday's visit to New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the teams will have to deal with another 1.0-mile track. However, Dover's concrete surface and banked corners present a much different challenge. The track isn't known as the "Monster Mile" for nothing, and side-by-side racing often leads to vicious, multi-car wrecks. Throw in one of the tightest pit roads in the business, and Sunday's race could go a long way to separating the six-car jam at the top of the standings.
For fantasy owners, Dover presents plenty of challenges, as well. There really aren't many drivers that consistently run at the front at the track. Not to mention the fact that drivers that run well for a few years will suddenly begin to struggle depending on the tire compounds being used. With the exception of a few big names, there are plenty of question marks about who will run well this weekend. Don't be surprised to see plenty of roster variations between owners, making Sunday's AAA 400 a chance for owners to gain or lose a lot of ground.
